Growth Response of Libtukom Coffee (Coffea liberica L.) Seedling trough on Peat Soil with Various Dolomite Lime Dosage

Peat soil is characterized by high acidity, which can hinder the growth of Libtukom coffee seedlings. The objectives of this research are to determine the optimal dosage of dolomite lime that supports of Libtukom coffee seedlings. The study was conducted from March to Juli 2024 at the Ajip nursery in Sungai Terap Village, West Tanjung Jabung Regency. Growth analysis was performed in the Basic Laboratory, the Faculty of Agriculture, Batanghari University. The research employed a CRD with treatment of dolomite lime (in tons per hectare): 0, 5, 10, 15, and 20. The dosage of dolomite lime was converted for 3 kg of planting media, resulting of 0, 6.25, 12.5, 18.75, and 25 g. The observed parameters included the chemical characteristics of the planting media, plant height, stem diameter, number of leaves, total leaf area, shoot dry weight, root dry weight, shoot-root ratio, and seedling quality index. Data were analyzed using Anova, followed by the Duncan test. The results of the study indicated that the K4 treatment increased 30,76% in plant height, 10.08% in stem diameter, 30.68% in number of leaves, 55.16% in total leaf area, 48% in shoot dry weight, 82.43% in root dry weight, and 47.54% in the seedling quality index. Overall, the K4 did not show a significant difference compared to the K3. Therefore, the optimal dosage of dolomite lime is 15 tons per hectare or 18.75 g for 3 kg of planting media. Dolomite lime is highly recommended for Libtukom coffee seedling with peat soil planting media.
