A Study on the Effectiveness of Green Supply Chain Management of Diamond Shipping Agencies PVT. LTD Tuticorin

Abstract The shipping industry plays a significant role in global trade, contributing significantly to environmental degradation through high energy consumption, greenhouse gas emissions, and waste generation. Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) has emerged as a strategic solution to mitigate the environmental impact of logistics operations. This study aims to evaluate the effectiveness of GSCM practices within Diamond Shipping Agencies, focusing on their environmental and economic outcomes. By using a mixed-methods approach, including both quantitative and qualitative analysis, the research identifies the challenges, benefits, and strategies involved in implementing GSCM. Findings suggest that Diamond Shipping Agencies have made substantial progress in reducing their environmental footprint, though challenges remain in technology integration, cost management, and supplier coordination. The study provides practical recommendations for enhancing GSCM practices, benefiting both the agency and the broader maritime industry.
