Smart Wearable Belt For Knee Surgery Patients Using Iot And Sensor Integration

This research introduces an IoT-enabled smart band intended for the remote monitoring of health and  rehabilitation progress in knee surgery patients. The system incorporates many sensors, including a pulse sensor, body temperature sensor, MEMS sensor, flex sensor, and force sensor, to monitor important physiological indicators and knee movement in real-time. Data is gathered and relayed using an ESP32 microcontroller to a mobile application utilizing the Blynk IoT platform, facilitating ongoing monitoring and remote access for caregivers. The device activates a warning via a buzzer and Smartphone messages upon detecting problematic situations, including irregular heart rate, increased body temperature, excessive pressure, or inappropriate knee movement. The prototype's performance test revealed exceptional sensor precision (±0.2°C for temperature and ±1° for movement detection) and swift alarm response times (within 3 seconds for all critical conditions). The system functioned with 98.7% uptime, guaranteeing dependable connectivity. The suggested IoT-based smart band improves patient safety, minimizes hospital visits, and facilitates quicker and more efficient rehabilitation through real-time monitoring, automatic alarms, and remote accessible. This system exemplifies a cost-efficient, user-centric method for enhancing post-surgical knee rehabilitation care.
