System dynamic model for cooking oil scarcity in Indonesia
Abstract The growing worldwide population is driving up demand for CPO, which in turn is driving up usage of cooking oil. Cooking oil has been scarce recently in Indonesia. In order to address the shortage issue, this research attempts to identify factors in/luencing the scarcity of cooking oil, develop a simulation model, and investigate several scenarios. This problem will be solved using systems dynamic. The /indings of this research highlight several elements affecting cooking oil scarcity, such as CPO production, CPO stock in the market, CPO exports, and others. Model creation has three parts: CPO suppliers, cooking oil sector, and biodiesel sector with other related areas. This study uses two scenarios: one that limits export amounts without increasing palm oil farming, and another that limits exports, halts forest land change, and improves palm oil land.
