Design of Electromagnetic Sensor for Monitoring the Position of Electrode Tips in Smelting Furnaces
This study aims to address the issue of low accuracy and high development difficulty in the detection of electrode tip positions during the smelting process of submerged arc furnaces. a three-dimensional electromagnetic sensor was designed to monitor the position of the electrode tips in the furnace. Firstly, a magnetic field radiation model of the submerged arc furnace was established based on electromagnetic theory, and the magnetic field distribution was analyzed through numerical simulation. Then, the physical structure and circuit of the sensor were designed and implemented. Finally, the performance of the sensor was evaluated through experimental and on-site testing. The research results show that the designed magnetic field sensor can accurately monitor the position of the electrode tips in the submerged arc furnace, with good stability and response speed. It not only provides effective technical support for the precise control and optimization of the submerged arc furnace but also offers a reference for the electromagnetic parameter monitoring in other high-temperature industrial environments.
