Application of three-dimensional space scanning technology and structural health monitoring on old pressure vessels
Deformation and failure of old pressure vessels may happen after long-term service due to many factors such as material aging and service damage. It is of great significance to realize the overall analysis and periodic inspection of the old pressure vessel structure, which can ensure the safe and stable operation of the equipment. In this paper, the three-dimensional space scanning technology and structural health monitoring method of old pressure vessels are studied. The liquid ammonia storage tank was chosen as the object here. The three-dimensional space model of the storage tank was constructed by combining the high-precision three-dimensional laser scanning method. The point cloud data of the storage tank were obtained by data registration. Meanwhile, the difference between the best fitting cylinder of the storage tank and the actual detection tank was compared. The reasonable evaluation of tank inclination, verticality and uneven deformation was realized. In addition, the scanning analysis of the internal and external corrosion conditions of the key parts was completed by using the detection unmanned aerial vehicle. Combined with traditional thickness measurement, magnetic particle detection, macro inspection and other means, the structural health status monitoring of old pressure vessels was realized. It is proved that three-dimensional space scanning technology can effectively identify the defects of old pressure vessels, and provide an effective method for structural health monitoring under special environment.
