Research on Fatigue Fracture Mechanism and Failure Analysis Method of Aircraft Throttle Control Cable
This article provides a detailed analysis of the failure of the left engine throttle control cable in a certain aircraft. Through the study of the macroscopic morphology, fracture morphology, energy spectrum analysis, metallographic structure, and hardness of the failed components, it was found that the type of steel cable fracture is fatigue fracture, with rapid crack propagation, belonging to high cycle fatigue fracture. Fatigue cracks are mainly caused by bending tensile stress, while the corrosion resistance of austenitic stainless steel decreases after deformation induced martensite, and crack initiation may be related to corrosion. Based on the analysis results, this article proposes suggestions to strengthen the maintenance and inspection of aircraft control systems, optimize cable structures and material selection, providing important references and basis for the maintenance and inspection of similar aircraft. This study not only contributes to improving the safety and reliability of aircraft control systems, but also provides useful references for related research in the aviation field.
