The article discusses modern theoretical approaches to understanding the capitalization of attention and digital labor in the emerging platform society. The article substantiates the concept of attention as a valuable asset for which various digital platforms compete. The authors pay special attention to the phenomenon of digital exploitation of Web users, emphasizing the ambiguous character of the economic nature of exchange in the current state of platform society.
