Energy Storage Capacity Allocation Method Considering Regional Power Grid Reliability and Distributed Photovoltaic Consumption
The rapid development of distributed photovoltaic resources has changed the operating mode of traditional power systems, and the introduction of energy storage systems has become a key means to improve the flexibility, stability, and reliability of power grids. Based on the power supply and demand balance of the regional power grid, the absorption capacity of distributed photovoltaic and the power demand of the power grid during the peak-load period are analyzed first. Next, by configuring energy storage to satisfy the distributed photovoltaic surplus power storage, it also satisfies the electricity demand at the peakload times. Then, based on the actual operation of the power grid, considering the N-1 failure of the main transformer of the substation in the regional power grid, the energy storage can meet the power supply demand of the load without causing load-shedding. Finally, the reliability index of the regional power grid is defined to represent the supporting ability to the regional power grid after the substation is configured with energy storage in the case of the main transformer N-1 failure. The effectiveness and adaptability of the proposed method are verified by a practical power grid.
