Electrolytic Water Hydrogen Model Characteristics and Impact on Power Grid
Hydrogen energy is a kind of secondary energy with abundant sources, green and low carbon, and is an important energy carrier of intermittent and random renewable energy system. Hydrogen energy plays an increasingly important role in power system with renewable energy proliferation. However, different interaction scenarios of hydrogen and electricity have a great impact on power grid power flow, voltage, control and protection under different operating conditions. In this paper, the model and output characteristics of alkaline electrolyzer is analyzed and its influence on power system is studied. Frist the alkaline electrolyzer model is established. Then the influence of operating temperature on electrolysis is analyzed in details. Finally, the influence on power flow and node voltage of power system with alkaline electrolyzer is studied utilizing IEEE 14 node system.
