PÁSSAROS PRESOS EM GAIOLAS COM SENTIMENTOS QUE LIBERTAM - RELATO DE EXPERIÊNCIA NO ESTÁGIO DE SAÚDE PRISIONAL DURANTE A RESIDÊNCIA DE MEDICINA DE FAMÍLIA E COMUNIDADE
Introduction: This paper presents the experience of a Family and Community Medicine resident within the prison system. Healthcare in the prison environment is supported by public policies such as the National Policy for Comprehensive Healthcare for People Deprived of Liberty (PNAISP), which is essential to ensure the right to health for a population that faces vulnerabilities often linked to social exclusion and unsatisfactory living conditions. Methodology: The internship, which lasted 15 days in 2024, was based on observations and participation in medical consultations, therapeutic groups, and visits to facilities. Data collection included daily notes, free writing techniques, literature review, and engagement with both the multidisciplinary team and the inmates. Results and Discussion: The experience highlighted issues such as overcrowding, unhealthy conditions, and the functioning of the health services provided. Mental health problems and the prevalence of chronic diseases were identified. Therapeutic groups focused on sexuality and support for the LGBTQIA+ population provided meaningful reflections on stigma and the humanization of care. The contribution of the healthcare team was shown to be essential in promoting dignity and equity. Conclusion: The experience emphasized the need for a humanized and interdisciplinary approach in the care of people deprived of liberty, underscoring the transformative impact of Family and Community Medicine in contexts of vulnerability.
