Toxicoderma – Case report and narrative literature review
Toxicoderma is characterized as an idiosyncratic reaction to drugs with mucocutaneous manifestations. 35% to 36% of adverse drug reactions are associated with this phenomenon in the pediatric population. Antibiotics, anti-inflammatory drugs and anticonvulsants are the most frequently implicated. The following is a retrospective case report accompanied by a literature review describing the clinical and morphological characteristics of mild (maculopapular exanthema, fixed drug eruption, urticaria) and severe forms of toxicoderma (PEGA, DRESS syndrome, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis).
