Aeroporto de Congonhas: uma vez um lugar
In order to analyze the original architectural design of the Congonhas Airport Passenger Terminal, its renovations and mischaracterizations, the text refers to the concepts of place and non-place. Present in urban memory, the Terminal is an example of art deco, with proto-modernist features; graced with artistic murals. Its original architecture was partially preserved, but its concept was lost. The terraces and small beaches that allowed visitors to watch the planes fly by were lost. Soon, the original place was transformed into an airport of international standards: a non-place.
