Analyzing Students’ Strategies in Developing Critical Writing for Writing Scientific Article Journal Publication

Writing skills are a key aspect in education and a vital role in the development of science. The combination of writing skill and critical thinking skill develop critical writing. Aim of this research is to analyze student’s strategies and to identify students’ difficulties in developing critical writing for writing scientific article journal publication. Researcher used a qualitative research approach. The writing strategies used by students in developing critical writing in writing scientific journal article publications is a writing plan in the early stages of writing, using outlines in writing, using academic style format and writing draft for final stage in writing. The obstacle or difficulties in students writing process are developing the content of the writing, difficulty of keeping the focus on the topic, difficulty in finding suitable references, determining the course of research and the hardship in choosing and using academic terms or languages.
