Conclusions: 1. Subjects of quality assessment of dissertations in general pedagogy need a systematized presentation of the means of such assessment to ensure mutual understanding in the scientific and pedagogical community and the necessary integration of research findings with the array of results known in science. 2. Systematization of means of assessing the quality of pedagogical research can be carried out on various grounds: procedural-resultative, logical-stage, methodological-instrumental. 3. Means of quality examination can be grouped by the methodological-instrumental feature as follows: methodological means; instrumental means. 4. For the purpose of a more accurate assessment of the quality of dissertation research, it is necessary to grade each of the assessment criteria at least on a four-rank scale: the indicator is expressed, mainly expressed, insufficiently expressed, not expressed.
