A model for evaluating the personal choice of extreme co-participating activities and psychological types of volunteers

The article is devoted to the development of an integrative (regression) model for assessing personal choice of participation in extreme volunteerism, as well as the possibilities of classifying diagnostic images (types) of volunteers. The research is based on the subject-participatory and subject-activity approaches, the author's concept of personal choice of participation in extreme volunteerism. The subject of the study is the personal choice of participation in extreme volunteerism. The aim is to develop an integral regression model for assessing the personal choice of extreme co-participating activities, with the help of which to substantiate the psychological types of extreme volunteers. Methods: expert assessment, psychological testing based on the questionnaire for studying personal choice and participation in extreme volunteerism by V.E. Petrov. The sample consisted of 627 extreme volunteers, 36 experts (supervisors). Empirical data processing included the use of regression and cluster analyses, and the assessment of intergroup differences. Based on the results of the regression analysis, a linear model was substantiated, the variables of which were such factors of personal choice of participation in volunteerism as: «Ideology (statehood)», «Integrity of worldview», «Voluntary sense orientation», «Motivation to extreme volunteerism», «Interest in volunteerism», «Propensity to extreme activities», «Dedication», «Self-control (volitional regulation)», «Extreme vitality», «Reliability». Cluster analysis made it possible to identify and describe three psychological types (diagnostic images) of extreme volunteers («Ideological volunteer», «Career volunteer» and «Pseudo-volunteer»), which differ statistically significantly according to the criterion of the formation of the subject's personal choice of participation in volunteerism. The identification of psychological types of extreme volunteers and the development of an integrative regression model make it possible to improve diagnostic work with representatives of law enforcement agencies and their training, and to individualize measures to support volunteerism.
