Magnetic phenomena which have numerous application in commonly used devices are conditioned by quantum effects. In this article we present the main theoretical models which are believed to capture the most important aspects of different physical systems exhibiting magnetic properties and discuss how on their ground one tries to understand mechanisms responsible for these properties.

Abstract

Magnetic phenomena which have numerous application in commonly used devices are conditioned by quantum effects. In this article we present the main theoretical models which are believed to capture the most important aspects of different physical systems exhibiting magnetic properties and discuss how on their ground one tries to understand mechanisms responsible for these properties.
