Optimized Design of an Aviation PM-Assisted Synchronous Reluctance Starter-Generator Considering Anti-Short-Circuit Ability
This paper designs and optimizes a permanent magnet assisted synchronous reluctance starter-generator (PMaSynR SG) for aviation applications, which is characterized by high efficiency, high power density and excellent anti-short-circuit ability. For the stator optimization, suitable structural parameters are selected by analyzing the effects of different structural parameters on short-circuit current, starting torque, and torque pulsation. For the rotor optimization, a sensitivity parameter degradation and a multi-objective optimization strategy based on particle swarm algorithm are proposed respectively, the rotor structure of PMaSynR SG is optimized according to the torque characteristics while limiting the short circuit current. Finally, the simulation comparison of the PMaSynR SG before and after optimization is carried out under four operating conditions, and the validity of the optimization design for the PMaSynR SG is verified.
