MUD in an Underwater Network Using Bioinspired Binary Tunicate Swarm Optimizer
High data rate in underwater using acoustic waves is achieved through the implementation of multi carrier system. One such system considered in this research is multiple input multiple output (MIMO) orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) system. The capacity of this considered system falls due to the interference from multiple number (No.) of users called multiple access interference (MAI) at its receiver. Therefore, such system at its receiver requires multiuser detection (MUD) in an underwater acoustic (UWA) environment. In this research, MUD is accomplished in an UWA network using global optimal solution obtained from jet propulsion and swarm behaviors of tunicates. The transceiver modelling of the considered system is done using World Ocean Simulator. The bit error rate (BER) analysis resulted from MATLAB simulation reveal that proposed binary tunicate swarm optimizer (BTSO) outperforms with best optimal solution over existing conventional approaches and bio-inspired optimizer such as BSHO and BPSO in binary domain based on the behavior of spotted Hyena and Particle Swarm respectively in an UWA network.
