Research of cats blood serum in hepatopathologies

The main aim of our research was a comparative study of morphobiochemical parameters of cats with fatty hepatosis and steatohepatitis. When cats were admitted to the clinic, anamnesis collection, clinical examination, blood sampling for morphobiochemical studies, ultrasound scanning of the liver were carried out. Indices of biochemical status in cats with hepatic steatosis and steatohepatitis change differently. Such indicators as alkaline phosphatase activity, LDH, cholesterol, ammonia content in steatohepatosis have been found within reference values, but have increased values in steatohepatitis. Indicators characterizing the content of total bilirubin, AsT, AlT, glucose, triglycerides, GGT in serum have elevated values both in hepatic steatosis and in the subsequent development of steatohepatitis. Interleukin IL-6 in blood serum in hepatic steatosis is within the physiological norm, while in steatohepatitis its sharp increase was observed. There is no pathological change in the content of tumour necrosis factor (TNF) in the blood serum of cats with liver steatosis and steatohepatitis. The level of interleukin IL-4 in the blood serum of cats with signs of liver steatosis and steatohepatitis was found to be lower than that of healthy cats. Values of transforming growth factor beta (TGF-beta) in blood serum in liver steatosis are similar to those of healthy cats. In steatohepatitis there is a sharp increase in the level of TFF-beta in the blood serum of cats.
