Results of studies of the size and mass characteristics of potato tubers

The article presents the results of the studies of the size and mass characteristics of the Red Scarlet, Nevsky and Gala potato tubers from the standpoint of creating working bodies of machines for their cultivation and harvesting. The results of previous studies of tubers of other varieties are considered. The methodology and equipment used in the studies are described. The results of the studies are presented in the form of distribution histograms, the analysis of the studies is carried out using the method of variation statistics. An empirical determination of the size-mass characteristics of the material under study is carried out in order to develop a fundamental design and technological scheme of an agricultural machine, as well as the main design and mode parameters of its working bodies.
