Semiconductor technology roadmaps and lithography implications

The photolithography materials market is expected to grow in the coming years, with an anticipated CAGR of ~5%. The smallest segment of this market is currently EUV related materials, as this technology is just gaining traction in device fabrication. Thus, EUV materials are expected to grow at a CAGR near 20%. To better explain the material market growth, it is important to understand the advanced technology roadmap for semiconductor devices. Advanced technology nodes roadmap estimates for advanced logic and memory will be shared with anticipated new process and material requirements (not just photolithography). As the semiconductor industry advances, we share a snapshot of the rapid pace of innovation required to achieve these industry milestones. These advances, as well as continued production of current devices, will drive the demand for more photolithography related materials. We will share our expected volume demand forecasts for photoresists, ancillaries, and extensions. A summary of key changes to the photolithography business landscape will be shared. Geopolitical activities are also affecting the photolithography materials activities. Several countries are pushing to expand semiconductor manufacturing in-country, which is drawing Intel, TSMC, Samsung, and others to increase their international footprints. This has resulted in several materials companies expanding production to similar regional areas. The US request to limit advanced technologies into China has resulted in at least seven companies to produce advanced photolithography materials (including ArF technology) in China.
