Biomechanical comparison of plate, intramedullary screw, and headless compression screw fixation in Danis–Weber type B lateral malleolar fractures
The 4.5-mm intramedullary headless compression screw provides strong mechanical stability and a lower risk of soft tissue complications in clinical practice. Therefore, this headless compression screw can be recommended as a fixation option for Weber type B lateral malleolar fractures.
