Meerstemmigheid in de epigrammen van Anyte van Tegea

The Epigrams of Anyte of Tegea (fl. ca. 300 BCE) have often been interpreted as the expression of a characteristic and distinctive female voice. I argue that these interpretations are too one-sided and ignore what I consider to be the main characteristic of her oeuvre, namely polyphony and multiperspectivity. I demonstrate and describe this polyphony by means of a narratological and intertextual analysis.

Abstract

I argue that these interpretations are too one-sided and ignore what I consider to be the main characteristic of her oeuvre, namely polyphony and multiperspectivity. I demonstrate and describe this polyphony by means of a narratological and intertextual analysis.
