Implementasi Teknik Akrostik dalam Keterampilan Menulis Puisi Mata Pelajaran Bahasa Indonesia pada Siswa Kelas VIII B SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu Tengah

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of the acrostic technique in enhancing poetry writing skills among 8th-grade students at SMP Negeri 11 Bengkulu Tengah. The acrostic technique was chosen as a teaching method to help students understand and apply the intrinsic elements and structure of poetry in a more creative and structured manner. This research employs a qualitative approach with observation, interviews, and document analysis methods, involving 27 students as the subjects of the study. The results indicate that the use of the acrostic technique significantly improved students' ability to compose poetry, particularly in terms of creativity, understanding of poetic structure, and linguistic expression. Students were able to create poems more easily and with greater direction, showing improvements in the use of more varied and poetic language. Moreover, the acrostic technique encouraged active student participation in the learning process, increased their interest in poetry, and facilitated the expression of ideas and emotions through writing. Based on these findings, it can be concluded that the acrostic technique is effective in enhancing poetry writing skills in Indonesian language education and can be integrated into the literary curriculum in secondary schools
