Variantes linguísticas para cangalha no falar paranaense: um estudo diacrônico, diatópico e diassexual
This paper, which is based on the principles of Traditional Geolinguistics (Coseriu, 1991), Variationist Sociolinguistics (Labov, 2008 [1972]; Silva-Corvalán, 1989; Moreno Fernández 1998) and Geolinguística Pluridimensional (Thun, 2000), aims to: i) describe the lexical variants for cangalha - object that is placed on the neck of farmed animals to avoid crossing the fence, collected in geolinguistic sources from Paraná and ii) analyze the maintenance, expansion or erasure of these forms from diachronic, diatopic, diagenerational and diasexual perspectives. To this end, a comparative study was conducted between the documented records, from Question 123, in Letter 61 of the Atlas Linguístico do Paraná – ALPR (Aguilera, 1994) and the unpublished data from the Atlas Linguístico do Brasil Project – ALiB-PR, Question 54. Given the constant mobility from the countryside to the city and the configuration of the new context experienced by the ALiB-PR informants, the data revealed a considerable number of non-responses and limited maintenance of old specific denominations, such as cangalha and canga in urban speech.
