Investigation Coating on Carbon Steel Using Nickel Polydimethylsiloxane Composite in Corrosive Environment
The combined approach of coating of dip and anodic electrophoretic deposition employed for creating a nickel polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) composite coating on carbon steel that can be resistant to corrosion, anti-biofouling, and persistent. For the evaluation of resistance of corrosion for coating on carbon steel using nickel PDMS composite in the solution of NaCI at 3.5 weight percentage exposure, it was employing polarization approach of potentiodynamic and impedance of electrochemical. Although nickel occupies micropores efficiently and chloride ions penetrate the nickel interlayer less frequently than they do through coated carbon steel, the composite coating (NiP) demonstrated six orders of magnitude charge of superior resistance of polarization and transfer characteristics. Strong adhesion has been generated by structure group of Si-OH for enhanced PDMS chemical absorption on the interlayer surface of nickel. Employing Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy for identifying the composite coating's function group. For corrosive environments, this unique approach is proven to be effective in creating a composite encompassing that is both strong and resistant to corrosion and biofouling.
