Thermoelectric Generator Employed Solar PV Hybrid System Considering Interconnection Schemes
Research on thermoelectric generator (TEG)-based systems is gaining prominence due to the rising need for effective energy harvesting from renewable resources. These systems are essential for promoting sustainability and reducing fossil fuel reliance. A significant area of study is the integration of TEG with solar photovoltaic (PV) systems to enhance energy output. In a hybrid solar PV and TEG system, researchers analyzed the temperature distribution on the semiconductor plate using the constant variation approach. This method helps determine the optimal operational temperature for maximum power production, crucial for designing efficient energy systems. The study also examines the behavior of the hybrid system by coupling eight solar PV modules in different configurations, assessing their performance under Healthy Irradiance (optimal sunlight) and Sectional Irradiance (variable sunlight conditions). One key finding is that the efficiency of solar PV modules decreases with increased sun concentration, posing a challenge for solar PV technology. However, TEG systems benefit from higher sun concentration, experiencing increased output and efficiency. This contrasting response makes TEG systems a valuable addition to hybrid energy setups. The research underscores the potential of combining TEG and solar PV technologies to create more efficient renewable energy systems. By understanding temperature dynamics and optimizing system configurations, the overall performance of these hybrid systems can be enhanced, contributing to the development of sustainable energy solutions.
