Efficiency Improvement in Electric Vehicle Battery Management Using Fuzzy Logic and Pi Controllers
An extensive analysis of the charging and discharging properties of batteries used in electric vehicle (EV) vehicles is presented in this work. A comparison is made between the Lithium-Ion battery and other battery types used in electric vehicles. In order to examine factors like efficiency, safety, and thermal management, the application of Battery Management Systems (BMS) with various battery types is investigated and the results are compared. The results prompted further investigation into the features of Lithium-Ion batteries, including voltage, state of charge, and health. The maximum battery voltage is computed using the voltage versus State of Charge (SoC) graph after the one and two RC networks of the equivalent circuit models were examined. The desire for more environmentally friendly and sustainable modes of transportation is what is driving the electric vehicle (EV) industry's rapid development. The battery, which is central to this evolution, is a major factor in vehicle performance, range, and user experience. Lithium-ion batteries are the preferred battery type for modern EVs due to its high energy density, long cycle life, and rapid charging speed. This study examines the features of EV battery charging and discharging with an emphasis on how these aspects affect EV mobility in India and around the world. The effects of significant developments in battery management systems (BMS) and control strategies, including temperature management and regenerative braking, on battery performance and lifespan are investigated. Additionally, the combination of sluggish AC and quick DC.
