Optimization of Interlaminar Shear Strength of the Jute/Kenaf/Glass with Silicon Dioxide Using RSM

Researchers have recently become interested in hybrid composites because of their considerable potential to overcome the constraints of nanofiber composites. However, the impact of multiple independent characteristics on the properties of these hybrid composites is still uncertain, as past research has mostly concentrated on altering a single variable at a time. This study utilizes Response Surface Methodology (RSM) to fill this void. The study focuses on precisely modeling and optimizing three separate parameters for hybrid composites made of Jute/kenaf/glass and silicon dioxide (SiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>). This is achieved by utilizing a three-level Central Composite Design (CCD) through response surface methodology. The chosen parameters, including fiber orientation, Fiber Sequence, and SiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> percentage have been chosen according to previous research. Their combined impacts on the Inter laminar shear stress (ILSS) characteristics are analyzed. The found optimized circumstances consist of a 90-degree fiber orientation, sequence 1, and 5 wt % SiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf>. These conditions are predicted to result in an optimum ILSS of 28 MPa. The experimental validation of the anticipated optimal outcomes proved their reliability, as the error levels were quite low. Furthermore, the results revealed that the inclusion of SiO<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> had a more pronounced effect on the ILSS than the other three variables.
