Utilization of Fully Transparent, Flexible, and Compact Modeled Low Voltage TFT for the Simulation of 2:4 and 3:8 Decoder Circuits

This article presents the implementation of 2:4 and 3:8 decoder circuits using a previously simulated, low-voltage, compact-modeled, fully transparent, and flexible a-IGZO (amorphous-Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide)-based TFT device. The outputs for both decoders, ranging from <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{D}_{\mathbf{0}}$</tex> to <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{D}_{\mathbf{3}}$</tex> for the 2:4 decoder and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{D}_{\mathbf{0}}$</tex> to <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{D}_{\mathbf{7}}$</tex> for the 3:8 decoder, were verified, demonstrating excellent transient characteristics in all cases. The compact modeling and circuit simulations were performed using Silvaco Techmodeler and Silvaco Gateway tools. Compact modeling with the Silvaco Techmodeler tool achieved high accuracy, with minimal error (less than 1%) between the modeled and simulated data. These decoder circuits show promise for future applications in complex memory circuits, display drivers, and control systems.

Abstract

This article presents the implementation of 2:4 and 3:8 decoder circuits using a previously simulated, low-voltage, compact-modeled, fully transparent, and flexible a-IGZO (amorphous-Indium Gallium Zinc Oxide)-based TFT device. The outputs for both decoders, ranging from <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{D}_{\mathbf{0}}$</tex> to <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{D}_{\mathbf{3}}$</tex> for the 2:4 decoder and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{D}_{\mathbf{0}}$</tex> to <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$\mathbf{D}_{\mathbf{7}}$</tex> for the 3:8 decoder, were verified, demonstrating excellent transient characteristics in all cases. The compact modeling and circuit simulations were performed using Silvaco Techmodeler and Silvaco Gateway tools. Compact modeling with the Silvaco Techmodeler tool achieved high accuracy, with minimal error (less than 1%) between the modeled and simulated data. These decoder circuits show promise for future applications in complex memory circuits, display drivers, and control systems.
