Harmonic Reduction and Voltage Stabilization in Grid-Connected Photovoltaic Systems Using Z-Source Converters

This This paper presents a detailed investigation into the performance and operational advantages of Z-Source Converters (ZSCs) in renewable energy systems, particularly focusing on photovoltaic (PV) applications. ZSCs, with their unique impedance network, offer a significant improvement over conventional voltage and current source converters by providing both buck-boost functionality without requiring complex control algorithms. The study examines the ability of ZSCs to enhance energy efficiency, reduce harmonic distortion, and improve voltage stability, making them well-suited for grid integration and battery management systems in electric vehicles. Simulations and comparative analyses between traditional converters and ZSCs demonstrate the superior performance of ZSCs, especially in maintaining consistent power output under variable load conditions. By incorporating ZSCs into renewable energy and electric vehicle systems, this research emphasizes their potential to facilitate higher efficiency and reliability, contributing to a sustainable energy future. A MATLAB Simulink model has been developed to address the proposed technique
