Simulation and Performance Analysis of a Microstrip Patch Antenna using Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) Feed

A study of the performance and modeling of a Microstrip Patch Antenna (MP A) using a Coplanar Waveguide (CPW) feed mechanism is done in this paper. The CPW feed configuration has been explored due to the said advantages such as improved impedance matching, reduced parasitic radiation, and ease of fabrication. Analysis is carried out for essential performance parameters such as gain, bandwidth, impedance, axial ratio, return loss, and voltage standing wave ratio (VSWR). The obtained values present a bandwidth of 0. 75%, gain of 9.5959 dBi, VSWR of 1.98, and return loss of −19.13 dB. Additionally, the value of axial ratio 6.9979 shows that this could also be applicable for CP. The impedance was calculated to be approximately 52.58 0, which closely matches the required standard impedance. These values show that the CPW-fed MP A is applicable for high-frequency wireless communication system applications.
