A Distinctive Centralized Street Light Fault Monitoring System Embedded with Reconfigurable WSN
Maintaining street light in many Indian cities is a challenging task due to the absence of a centralized monitoring system. Faults such as mal-functioning lights, fused lights, leakage in current, breakage in the cable, in street lights heavily relies only on citizen grievances, that presumably increases the delays. These further results in increased costs and other safety concerns. A considerable amount of time is spent by linemen manually searching for faults, diagnosing them and finally fixing them. This manual process in fact consumes several days to complete. Implement a system to accurately measure the power consumption of individual street lamps. Develop a feature that adjusts the brightness of streetlights based on natural daylight conditions to save energy. Use sensors to identify faults or malfunctions in street lights and build algorithms to perform predictive analysis of faults. Develop a centralized dashboard accessible online to monitor and control each lamp post individually.
