A Passenger-oriented Train Scheduling Optimization Method for Tourism Rail Transit System
This paper presents a train scheduling optimization method for tourism rail transit at the tactical level, aimed at enhancing the effectiveness of operational planning in the context of dynamic changes in passenger demand. The proposed method considers passenger reservations and the synchronization of train services, establishing a model that minimizes the total transfer waiting time for passengers. This model provides an integrated optimization scheme for the stop plan and train timetable, ensuring that all passengers are transported. Realistic situations, such as train capacity limitations and passenger waiting time restrictions, are taken into account. We utilize the CPLEX solver to obtain the optimal solution for the proposed model. Experimental results indicate that, compared to the fixed operation plan that does not consider demand, our method improves both the quality of schedule formulation and the level of operational service.
