Optimizing X-Band Low Noise Amplifier: Design Challenges, Topologies and Technological Insights
High-performance communication systems has heightened the need for advanced X-band Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs). Optimizing X-band Low Noise Amplifiers (LNAs) is critical for achieving enhanced signal clarity and system performance. This paper focuses on the design challenges, topologies and technological advancements that influence their performance. Various LNA topologies, including cascaded, differential and distributed designs, highlighting their respective advantages and limitations in terms of noise figure, gain and stability are explored in this research paper. The review highlights a spectrum of LNA topologies, including common designs such as cascode, differential, distributed configurations and evaluates their performance trade-offs and suitability for different applications. In this research paper review has been done on various technologies such as GaAs, GaN, SiC, HEMT and SiGe, BiCMOS along with single stage and two stage of LNA. Also, various topologies, biasing networks and matching networks are discussed in this paper. New methodology for low noise X-band LNA design is discussed in this paper which will match <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$50 \Omega$</tex> impedance in input and output stages. Design of an MMIC LNA is discussed for covering low noise figure, high gain, good return losses has been mentioned. Design and simulations will be done with the help of ADS tool.
