Evolutions in technology enabling the AI era
The great wave of AI is upon us, driving significant transformation and demand across the semiconductor industry. Fueled by relentless technology innovation enabling packages with greater than 100B+ transistors, the ability to produce a new type of computing system is enabling the era of AI applications. AI training compute required for state-of-the-art models has grown by 1,000,000x in just the past decade, and the demand to enable new applications continues to rise. Skyrocketing datacenter energy usage to enable these applications is the first order technology challenge facing the industry. In pursuit of continuing on the path of Moore’s Law innovation, co-optimization in the ecosystem across silicon, packaging, systems and beyond is critical to drive energy efficiency to enable the systems of the future. This keynote delves into the evolving co-optimization of Intel Foundry technologies at the system-level, block-level, cell-level and fundamental technology level that pave the way to 1T+ transistor chips of the future.
