The Scientific Dimension in the Omani Novel

This study aims to identify the scientific novel in terms of the definition and its origins. Besides, it aims to trace its development in the West and with the Arabs. This research looks for the Omani scientific novels. The Omani science fiction novel began recently, with its first beginnings appearing at the hands of the novelist Muhammad Al-Jazmi, who is considered the best achiever in this field and who continues writing in science fiction. A number of Omani novelists have written novels about science fiction and scientific facts. This study focused on the novels "Year 3000" by Salem Al-Tuwaih and "Mariana's Black Hole" by Haider Al-Kashri. The research determines the positive dimensions of science fiction such as the manifestations of scientific, medical progress and anticipating the future beside the negative dimensions such as wars and risking the lives of creatures.
