ANÁLISES MICROBIOLÓGICAS DA ÁGUA DE UM CHAFARIZ DA CIDADE DE PIRIPIRI – PI
Water is essential, and its contamination can have serious consequences for health, making it vital to monitor the presence of pathogenic microorganisms. This study aims to evaluate the quality of the water from the Luiz Meneses fountain in Piripiri-Pi. The methodology used in this research is quantitative and qualitative in nature. For this purpose, water samples were collected properly stored in sterile containers after cleaning and asepsis of the tap, in accordance with Resolution 888 of 2021. Microbiological analysis was performed using the Colipaper kit to identify the presence of Escherichia coli and total coliforms. In summary, the results of the microbiological and physicochemical analyses indicated that the water quality fluctuated throughout the period. Furthermore, the presence of E. coli in some samples raises concerns about water safety and potability. It was concluded that monitoring the water quality of the Luiz Meneses roadside fountain is essential to ensure that potability standards are met and that the population has access to safe water. Variations in the results indicate the need for continuous monitoring and actions to mitigate contamination and prevent the consumption of non-potable water. Therefore, the study informs the importance of public policies and management practices for society.
