Offshore Wind Farm As Blue Economic Pillar And Support For Energy Sustainability
Abstract Energy is not only limited to life, but is also a crucial factor of global economy. As a basic need of all aspects of life, current energy is still fossil-generated, causing greenhouse gas emission that contributes to climate change and air pollution, ecosystem damages, and health risks over humans. Therefore, it is essential to find out optional renewable energy resources as blue energy that is environmentally-friendlier. Furthermore, a descriptively qualitative method was used by means of qualitative analysis of objects or phenomena being researched based on the actual condition when the research was carried out. Findings had revealed that Indonesia has been utilizing land breeze as an energy resource to generate energy by means of onshore wind farm (PLTB), instead of offshore wind farm (PLTA). Therefore, putting offshore wind farm as a priority for power plant to generate clean, environmentally-friendly, and sustainable energy is urgent. As blue energy, offshore wind farm plays important roles in support of blue economy and holistic energy sustainability. Also, as a pillar of blue economy, offshore wind farm brings about impacts to the economic sector and contributes to energy resource diversification and local economic growth.
