Master-Slave Control Design on High Powered Interleaved Boost Converter
In High power applications, where the input voltage is limited which results in high input current, paralleling the boost converters is advisable and can be operated by interleaving. For an Interleaved Boost Converter (IBC) two control aspects are required voltage regulation and equal current sharing among its phases. This paper uses a Master-Slave Control (MSC) algorithm that takes care of both the aspects. This dual loop MSC is evaluated through experiment and simulation. MSC algorithm is implemented experimentally on a 10kW two-phase interleaved boost converter (TP-IBC) prototype and also simulation results are obtained for the same using MATLAB Simulink. The MSC algorithm is implemented digitally using DSP (TMS320F28379D).
