Navigating the AR Labyrinth: Enhancing Immersion and Interaction Through Tracker-Based Movement in Augmented Reality Maze Games
An Augmented Reality (AR) maze game exploiting sound systematized concepts such as marker- based tracking, augmented reality and immersive graphics was developed. The main goal of this is to demonstrate tracker-based movement mechanics in video games by overlaying various mazes over real world environments through AR. This paper employs unique game and movement mechanics with the aim of increasing user interaction and immersion hence creating a hybrid of the digital and a physical world. The game's quest for greater realism aligns with emerging technologies like Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), or Extended Reality (XR) which focus on integrating digital objects into the physical domain. This paper, therefore, aims to make its contribution towards better understanding and improvement of video gaming experiences based on AR particularly in terms of building believable as well as interactive environments. It also fulfills the informative research on Augmented Reality understanding and improvement gaming phases.
