A Seven Level Symmetrical Reduced Switch MLI for Grid-Tied Application
Multilevel inverter (MLI) is attaining popularity for medium and high power application for renewable energy (RE) based grid connected system. The article presents a new seven level reduced switch MLI with grid tied application. The inverter uses nine unidirectional switches with less total standing voltage and cost function. SPWM is used to produce gate signal to trigger the switches. The proposed topology is represented for symmetrical mode of operation. DC sources are used in place of RES for simulation. The proposed inverter is also performed for grid-tied system. The performance of the proposed inverter is analyzed in MATT.AB/Simulink
