Mapping the Intersection of AI and Sustainable Finance: A Bibliometric Study on Global Trends and Research Networks

Artificial Intelligence is considered one of the most significant technological breakthroughs of a relatively short period, which brings significant advantages to many spheres of human life. It has a wide range of uses, nevertheless, one of the most significant fields of its usage is sustainability. The financial system can be said to be digitalized for a while now. The ability to gain large amounts of data on investment and sustainable development consequences at high speeds, low cost, and with relative ease in the form of complex information which hitherto is difficult to monitor accelerates transparency and aids public institutions in monitoring the regulatory sides of sustainable development. Thus, this research intends to understand the current advancements in AI and sustainable finance. The research from 2011 to 2024 from the Scopus database is collected using keywords (“Sustainable” OR “Social” OR “ESG” OR “environmental” OR “environmental social governance” AND “finance” OR “investment” OR “fund” OR “bond” AND “AI” OR “Artificial Intelligence”), 1033 research publications are obtained on which a bibliometric analysis is carried out. Other software tools that are used in the analysis include VOS-Viewer and Biblioshiny with the use of R Studio. The study is able to recognize such established authors, periodicals, and organizations and determines the most rapidly developing theme of the domain. Thus, this paper provides valuable directions for academicians who are interested in expanding their research in the related field
