Design and Development of Intelligent Power Module based Power Electronics Learning Kit
A configurable power electronic learning kit based on the intelligent power module (IPM) has been presented which can be used for understanding the working of multiple power electronic circuits. The kit developed is capable of operating in four different modes, namely buck, boost, single-phase inverter and three-phase inverter mode. Each of these modes is operated in closed loop using digitally implemented proportional and integral (PI) controller. In this paper, the design of the kit and the hardware results corresponding to all the modes has been presented. The kit also has the facility to upgrade individual boards and reconfigure software program as per the user's requirement. This kit is intended for people from all aspects of academia and industry for their prototype testing.
