Enhancing Efficiency in Dual-Motor Four-Wheel Drive Electric Vehicles via Power Sharing Optimisation
Energy efficiency is the critical parameter for extending the driving range of electric vehicles (EVs). This paper introduces a novel dual-motor differential 4-wheel drive (D4WD) system based on OEWIM. The study focuses on optimizing the torque distribution to minimize the drive system power loss. The proposed D4WD drive and direct torque control strategies were validated through simulations using the FTP-75 driving cycle. The results demonstrate that the optimized torque distribution model significantly enhances energy efficiency, contributing to improved vehicle performance and extended driving range. This research provides a comprehensive approach to achieving high efficiency in D4WD EVs through effective torque management.
