ISTE and IST2E Based PID Control for Frequency Control of Shipboard Microgrid

Due to intermittent power injection of renewable energy sources in shipboard microgrids (SBMGs), it becomes extremely important to study their stability in the presence of varying loads. Load frequency control (LFC) plays a crucial role in maintaining the stability and power balance in SBMG. This study emphasizes LFC analysis for SBMG, implementing error performance indices methods (EPIm) for controller tuning. EPIms considered for tuning are integral square time error (ISTE) and integral square time square error (IST2E). Comparative analysis is performed based on responses of the frequency deviations obtained for SBMG without controller and with EPIm based controllers. For further supporting the obtained outcomes, comparison is further carried out on the basis of comparative analysis.
