A Novel High-Gain Non-Inverted Voltage-Lift Switched-Capacitor DC-DC Step-Up Converter

This paper addresses a novel high-gain non-inverted voltage-lift and switched-capacitor (HGNIVLSC) based DC-DC step-up converter having a common grounding between the source and the load, a low inductor current ripple, and continuous input current benefits for integration with renewable energy sources (RES). The proposed topology steps up the low voltage of the photovoltaic (PV) array using voltage-lifting and switched-capacitor techniques with reduced device count, low voltage stress, and current stress. The proposed HGNIVLSC converter is analyzed in ideal and steady-state to determine the voltage gain, voltage stress, and current stress on power semiconductor devices in continuous conduction mode (CCM), as well as the boundary values of the energy storage elements. Finally, the proposed topology verifies its performance using the dSPACE1104 controller by hardware implementation, having the input voltage supply of 25V and regulated output voltage of 200V, having a nominal output power of 200W of the designed prototype.
