High Gain DC-DC Converter Fed PMSM Drive With Field-Oriented Control Techniques for Fuel Cell-Based Electric Vehicles
Electric vehicle (EV) traction drives are more competitive due to advancements such as permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), which enhance efficiency and power density. The PMSM for the EV control system is impacted by changes in the motor's properties and outside interference, which stops the motor system from providing prompt, high-caliber dynamic performance. Since the torque and speed of an electric vehicle always vary, operating an efficient vehicle requires varying voltage levels. This research thoroughly investigates a PMSM drive powered by a high-gain DC-DC converter, especially for fuel-cell electric vehicles (FC-EVs). The addition of high-gain DC-DC converters improves the efficiency and performance of the drive system. Additionally, it used fuzzy logic and FOC methods to enable PMSM for EV applications to operate efficiently. Fuzzy logic is employed to determine <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$K_{p}$</tex> and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$K_{i}$</tex> values under various PMSM driving circumstances. The effectiveness of fuzzy-PI-based FOC approaches is confirmed by comparing them to traditional FOC techniques. The experiment findings ultimately validate the efficacy of the hybrid control systems and recommended converter design for PMSM drive in 3-wheeler EV applications. The suggested architecture tested under various dynamic condition to confirm the system's effectiveness.
