Enhancing System Performance with Wind Farm Using Fuzzy Logic Coordination between AVR and PSS Controllers
Given the pervasive deployment of Doubly-fed Induction Generator (DFIG) in power grids, ensuring optimal operation during faults is crucial, particularly addressing transient stability. This study focuses on enhancing the system's stability by integrating DFIG-based wind farms and coordinating Automatic Voltage Regulators (AVR) and Power System Stabilizers (PSS) of synchronous generators via fuzzy logic. The fuzzy coordinator mitigates detrimental AVR-PSS interactions, optimising their gains for fault conditions. This coordination improves active power flow, reduces DFIG reactive power demands, and mitigates the deviation of system parameters. It is established based on the IEEE-9 bus system to validate the approach, showcasing superior performance compared to individual methods. The results underscore the robustness and reliability of FLC coordination, ensuring enhanced system stability.
